Hey there!

If you’re new here, welcome. We’re really glad you found your way to our small family farm.

This is a monthly update we send to friends, neighbors, and anyone local who cares about good food and the work behind it. It’s our way of sharing what’s been happening on the farm and inviting you into it.

The past 2 months have been full of steady work, small signs of new life, and a lot to be grateful for. We’re thankful you’re here to follow along with us.

🚜 A Farm Thought

The other day a close family friend brought his young nephew out to see the farm.

As we walked the property, I mentioned that our farm was still so small.

He looked around for a moment and said,

"Well, it's really big for me!"

It was a simple comment, but it stayed with me.

Comparison has a quiet way of stealing joy. We look at what others have, and before long what we’ve been given starts to feel like not enough.

Gratitude does the opposite.

When we stop measuring what we have against what others have, we begin to see the beauty and value of that which is already in front of us.

For us, that's land to tend. Animals to care for. Food to grow. And most importantly, people to share it with.

What may seem small can be more than enough for a thankful heart.

🌱 First Fruit Announcement

On Valentine’s Day, something special happened.

More than 25 friends and neighbors came out to help us plant our 2-acre elderberry orchard. The weather was perfect, and the pasture was full of work, laughter, and love.

These plants will take a few years to produce enough fruit to serve our community, but every orchard begins with small cuttings in the ground and big hope for what’s ahead.

We couldn’t have done it without the help of our community.

🍗 Pasture-Raised Chicken

With the weather warming, our new batch of meat broiler chickens are now out on pasture.

This year we’ve been making an effort to be more transparent about how we raise our animals. We’ve been sharing a short video series on Instagram that shows the day to day work behind raising pasture raised chickens, so you can see exactly how your food is being raised.

These birds will be ready in just a few weeks, so we wanted to give you the first opportunity to place a pre order.

You can choose one of our chicken bundles to save a bit, or order a la carte if you prefer.

If you’re interested in joining us on processing day, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 11, you can also reserve your spot using the same pre order form.

🍯 Raw Honey

Last month we officially launched our raw local honey, and the response has been incredible. Many of you have already picked up a bottle and the feedback has been overwhelmingly encouraging.

Our honey is raw, unfiltered, and unheated, which means it keeps the natural enzymes, pollen, and nutrients that make honey such a valued food.

It’s the kind of honey that hasn’t been overly processed or stripped down like much of what’s found on grocery store shelves.

For those of you who want it regularly in your homes, we now offer honey subscriptions so you can keep a steady supply on hand.

🎉 Free Food Giveaway

This month we’re giving away a bottle of our elderberry syrup to three members.

We’ve been experimenting with small batches and are getting close to the final recipe. It’s not quite ready for a public release just yet, but we’ll be ordering our labels next month.

To enter, help us decide which label to go with for our inaugural launch. Click below to cast your vote!

💬 Something to Reflect On

Is there something in your life you’ve been calling small that might actually be more than enough?

The thing you are overlooking may just be the very thing someone else is praying for.
